Developing a Skilled Competitive Workforce
The public workforce system is a valuable resource to support human capital development of workers across the NEWDB service area and throughout the state of Oklahoma. The NEWDB has a team dedicated to serving Northeast area employers. The Business Service Team offers assistance with recruiting, hiring, training, and upskilling workers and connecting job seekers to employment opportunities with an emphasis on in-demand occupations.
Through our Oklahoma Works American Job Center sites located in Bartlesville, Claremore, Miami and Pryor, our team offers effective strategies for ensuring a skilled workforce pipeline ready to meet local business and industry demands. Top industry sectors include:

The Educators Toolkit has been crafted to inform admissions teams, guidance counselors, and other educators regarding the array of resources accessible to qualified individuals. This comprehensive toolkit includes links to paid internships, scholarships for post-secondary education, and connections to Registered Apprenticeship programs.

Work Based Learning
Work-based learning (WBL) provides more opportunities for workers to earn income while gaining critical job skills. The positive impact to workers, employers, and the economy is substantial through effective work-based learning programs.
This umbrella term covers many services available to our customers.

The Business Service Team will assist with recruitment through virtual and in-person hiring events and job fairs. Our team will help organize a single employer hiring event at any one of our American Job Centers, or onsite at your location. Our Business Services Team will work with you to promote your event on social media and through our partner network.
Interview space is also an available service at our American Job Centers!

Hot Jobs is a collection of job openings in our 7-county area, focused around the American Job Center locations: Claremore, Bartlesville, Miami and Pryor. The list is disseminated biweekly to our partner organizations that work directly with job seekers.

Oklahoma Job Match
OKJobMatch.com is a self-service job posting tool that allows employers to post job openings and search resumes to identify talent. As a user, the employer will be able to save resumes of qualified candidates, receive resume match alerts, and promote their company profile. We encourage employers to keep in mind that everyone receiving unemployment benefits in Oklahoma is required to be registered on this site, and because this site is part of the workforce development system, there is no cost to employers or job seekers!
Skills Based Hiring
Skillful Talent Series
Hiring the right employee is now more important than ever. As the economy changes, our hiring practices should adapt and ensure we hire the best employee possible. A skills-based approach to hiring can increase retention by up to 65% and improve staff performance. This workshop will assist hiring manager in attracting the right candidates based on their skills and not proxy. SKILLFUL® Talent Series is a four-part workshop series designed for you to learn and use skills-based hiring and employment practices to hire and retain the right employees. Skillful Talent can be done in a group setting, 1-1, virtual or in person.

Northeast Workforce Development Board is your source for a number of services to help ease the transition for you and your affected workers. Northeast Workforce Development Board will meet with officials from your company and explain services and benefits available to your affected workers.

- Opportunities for re-training, including post-secondary education;
- Discuss workshops that are available such as job search, resume writing, and interview skills;
